Volunteering at Watford Harriers

All athletics clubs are reliant on its volunteers from Coaches, Officials, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretaries, Team Manager, Committee Members, Administrators and catering help. Without their help we could not function, neither could we afford to pay generally for their services except expenses without substantially increasing the membership fees..

For those who wish to help with coaching and officiating the club will pay for courses if they wish to progress onto being qualified.

What most parent do not realise except for one paid post we are all volunteers juggling time between our day jobs and athletics. They are the club not the few who chase around.

When people join, we remind them or their guardians (if under 16) that they have an obligation to help out for the club to function. We do not expect them all to put in regular hours just to help out when required.
