Endurance Academy
About
The Endurance Academy was set up in April 2018, with the view to bringing the best distance runners in the district between years 5-7 to Watford Harriers. The top 10 finishers in the Year 5 Watford & District Cross Country Final automatically qualify for a place and others are handpicked for their potential, either from the Junior Challenge or our Open Meets. The aim is to get these athletes ready to compete for us in the Chiltern Cross Country League which starts in October and runs from U11s upwards. We then hope once they graduate from the academy to also see them compete in middle distance events in the Eastern Young Athletes League. This is U13 and upwards. Those selected for the academy must sign on as members, membership prices can be found here.
Training Schedule
There are 3 available sessions per week and they are as follows:
Tuesdays - Main Session - Woodside Stadium - 6-645pm - £1.75 (Track entry fee)
Thursdays - Junior Group - Woodside Stadium - 7-8pm - £1.75 (Track entry fee)
There is also an existing Minors session that takes place on a Sunday:
Sunday - Woodside Stadium - 1030-1130 (Non academy session) - £2 Members £3 Non members
Races
During the Winter we compete in the Chiltern Cross Country League and in the Summer the Eastern Young Athletes League. We also take teams to country, regional and national event and take part in local road races.
