The Minor Harriers is our youngest section and caters for athletes in the 7-10 age group. The aim is to give youngsters an introduction to athletics, whilst helping them to master the basic skills. We encourage them to participate in our Minors Open Meetings, which are held up to three times a year. Details of these are at the bottom of the page. The session starts at 10.30am every Sunday - PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARRIVE BY 10.15AM, ready for the session to start promptly at 10.30am and allow time to register. Every athlete must register and have proof of Watford Harriers membership, the club reserve the right to decline anyone from training without proof of membership.
Due to the Covid Pandemic the club is unfortunately no longer able to handle cash and offer a “pay as you go” option, therefore an online payment system for Minors session is in place. The exception to this is payment for the Minors Open Meetings where cash is accepted.
A registration form must be completed when you start, and you need to sign-in with a member of the Harriers committee each week. You will receive 3 free trial sessions, after which we ask you to sign up to become a member of Harriers and pay annually or 3months up front and then monthly. This payment covers your Watford Harriers membership and Track fees.

We offer a pathway for minors through to junior athletics at the club, this info can be downloaded from our Junior Section page.
Due to high demand we are also running an additional Minors session on a Saturday at 9.30am - 10.30am.
Our programme of activities over the year is as follows:
January to March General co-ordination and mobility.
April to September Track and Field Athletics including multi event competitions.
October to December General co-ordination and mobility.
The Open Minors Meetings / Competitions will take place between 10.30am - 1pm (approximate timings) on the following dates:

Entries are on the day, and please arrive in good time to fill out event entry forms and collect race numbers. Entry opens from 09:30am in the clubhouse and will close at 10.15am.
This event is open to Under 7s, U9s, U11s & U13s (Yr 1 to Yr 8) and athletes can pick any three events from hurdles, sprints, middle distance, long jump, cricket ball & shot.
Results will be posted on this page when available.
The cost is £4 for members (proof required) and £8 for non members. Please pay with cash and bring the correct change if possible. This includes up to 3 events.
