The seniors boast an array of talent from the ultra competitive to the fitness fanatic. Whether you're a serious athlete or training for fun, we cater for everyone. Our main session is on a Tuesday night and Thursday night at 6.45pm at the Watford Harriers track. This is typically an interval session, with occasional group road runs on a Thursday instead of a track session. During the winter this takes place on the track and during the summer in the park (road runners only). Some of the road runners also meet on a Wednesday night for a 5-8 mile steady run. There is also an interval session in the park on a Saturday morning and a long steady run on a Sunday.

In the winter months the Seniors compete in the Chiltern Cross Country League and during the summer months the Southern Athletics League (SAL), as well as various other X/C events such as the Southern championships  and the Nationals. We also enter various road races throughout the season. The cost of entry for the Cross country events and the SAL are included in the membership fee. We are always looking for athletes to fill these events so should you have an interest, please do get in touch. We have several designated road races throughout the season, for more info on road running and fixtures, please follow the link at the bottom to our designated road running page.

If you have an interest in Track, Field, Cross Country or Road Running either competing or just to discover your own talent why not “Come and Join Us” and enjoy the following benefits.

  • Membership of your local athletics club affiliated to all of the major athletics organisations at local, County, Regional and National level.
  • Use of Woodside Stadium at Horseshoe Lane Garston on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.45pm.
  • Friendly and helpful advice is always on hand from experienced athletes, coaches and team managers.
  • Improve your performance with qualified coaching at any of the approved coaching and training sessions.
  • Frequent Cross Country & Road Running from local and other venues.
  • Track and Field events at Woodside (one of the best tracks in the South of England) and at the various Stadia that we visit during the season.
  • Membership of several leagues allowing competition at all levels but above all take part in competition for a club that has a special standing in the area and a proud history of outstanding and successful athletes.

Membership fees and information can be found here: Watford Harriers Membership
